YouTube API Services
VidAI (https://vidai.help) uses YouTube Data API v3 services provided by Google to enable video translation features. When you authorize VidAI to access your YouTube channel, we collect and process the following information:
What Data We Access
VidAI accesses the following YouTube metadata:
- YouTube Metadata: Video titles, descriptions, and localizations (translated metadata)
- Channel Information: Channel ID, title, thumbnail URL, and description
- Video Metadata: Video titles, descriptions, publication dates, and other metadata necessary for translation services
- Access Tokens: Encrypted OAuth tokens that allow VidAI to access your YouTube data on your behalf
Important: We do NOT access sensitive information, personal information beyond YouTube channel data, or upload any content unless explicitly triggered by you.
Why We Access That Data
We use this information solely for the purpose of providing translation services:
- To display metadata (titles, descriptions, localizations) for translation
- To update metadata when the user requests translation
- Nothing else - we do not use YouTube data for any other purpose
Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance
VidAI's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How We Store the Data
We do NOT store personal Google data. We store only the minimum necessary data:
- Channel ID, title, thumbnail URL, and encrypted access tokens on our secure servers
- Translations may be cached temporarily to improve performance
- Access tokens are encrypted and automatically refreshed when they expire
- No third-party sharing - we do not share your data with third parties
Data Caching
To improve performance and reduce API usage, VidAI temporarily caches YouTube video metadata (titles, descriptions, publication dates, thumbnails, privacy status) for short periods:
- Video Lists: Cached for up to 1 hour
- Video Details: Cached for up to 10 minutes
- Channel Playlist Information: Cached for up to 12 hours
Cached data is automatically refreshed when it expires, or you can manually refresh it at any time using the "Refresh" button on your channel page. All cached data is automatically deleted or refreshed within 30 calendar days as required by YouTube API policies. Cached data does not include any personal information beyond what is necessary to provide the translation service. Clearing or refreshing cached data does not affect your YouTube channel or videos stored on YouTube.
Data Sharing
We do not share your YouTube data with third parties except as necessary to provide the translation service through Google's YouTube API Services. Your use of YouTube features is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
User Control
You have full control over your data:
- Users can disconnect their Google account at any time
- We delete stored data upon request
- You can request deletion of your YouTube channel data and tokens at any time
When you request deletion, we will immediately and permanently remove:
- OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens
- Channel information (channel ID, title, thumbnail URL, description)
- All translation data associated with the channel
- VidAI's ability to access or manage your channel
Note: For credit tracking purposes, we retain API usage logs (ApiLogs) that are linked to deleted channels. These logs contain only usage statistics and do not include any personal or channel-specific information.
How to Request Deletion
You can request deletion of your YouTube channel data in four ways:
- Through VidAI Interface: Remove the authorization from the YouTube Channels page. When you delete a channel authorization through our interface, we will immediately revoke the OAuth token with Google and permanently delete all stored access tokens, channel data, and translation information.
- By Support Ticket: Submit a support ticket requesting full data removal through our Support page. We usually process these requests within 24 hours.
- By Email Request: Contact us at privacy@vidai.help to request immediate deletion of your stored YouTube data. We will process your deletion request immediately upon receipt.
- Through Google: Revoke access via your Google Account Security Settings. When you revoke access through Google, we will delete all API Data related to your account within 30 calendar days as required by YouTube API policies.
Important: Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you wish to use VidAI translation services for your channel again after deletion, you will need to re-authorize the channel and set up all data from scratch.
